Anything worth doing, is worth doing right.

Growing.  Changing.  Evolving.

Choosing to be a photographer and creating a photography business is not something that is easily mapped out for me, much less anyone creating a business.  I am constantly learning, changing, growing, evolving, and hardly ever standing still.  When I launched Kathryn Rose Images in the fall of 2008, I couldn’t wait for clients to see my awesome website that I had spent many countless and thoughtful hours putting together only to find out, to my dismay, two other photographers in the Eau Claire area had implemented the same web design as me!  I was calling myself unique and I felt far from it.

I have come full circle with myself since March of 2009.

I now realize that my website is my hand-shake and my photo journal is my voice.  I truly hope my clients have a crystal-clear and concise picture of what Kathryn Rose Images is all about and know me as a person. Have a look around, maybe you’ll spy a pretty face that you know all too well.

Spring is upon us!  It’s time for a fresh change!

Like my new look? Leave me a commet and tell me what you think.

Posting without a photo is a no-no in my book……Here’s my Emily playing in the Texas long grass.

 All for now.

Sharing a few family happy snaps from Spring break. Since the weather was awful most of the week, I decided to take the kids down to Milwaukee for an over-nite. Our first stop was the Milwaukee County Zoo.

I couldn’t believe it started to SNOW!!

The snowflakes were HUGE tongue catching flakes.

The kids were moving fast through the Zoo, and I don’t blame them, it did get cold fast….they didn’t even stop to check out the bears.  I of course snapped a few photos and upon zooming in on one images, I think this bear in the far right photo was trying to catch snowflakes too.

My kids crave hotel living!

undefined Day 2…….The Miluakee Public Museum is beyond fantastic and one of our most beloved places to visit.

undefined

Mallory and Emily love the butterfly encounter, the other 3 kids….not so much!  I have no idea why these girls always attract butterflies. I think I’ll start calling them the “Butterfly Whippersper.”

Anytime were near Milwaukee….it’s a MUST to visit the Jelly Belly factory!

More from Chicago…….

Day 3

There is one restaurant that is a MUST for my girls.

The Grand Lux on Michigan Ave.

We always request a table by the window so we can pier down and watch the street and foot traffic go by, not to mention the glow from the white twinkle tree lights from Michigan ave. gives this restaurant a different ambiance only at the holiday time.

The cafe also has some of the BEST chocolate desserts I’ve ever tasted so we always start off with a “totally chocolate dinner” and then order “real” food after.  That’s just how I roll.  (wink)

I’m loving ALL the snow that’s outside!  “Welcome Christmas!”  as my Peyton says.

All for now.

I’m sharing more photos from our Chicago vaction.

 Chicago Day 2

Our mornings started just right knowing there was a Dunkin Donuts right down the block.  YUM!!  How I wish Eau Claire had one.

Destination:  The American Girl store.

Our hotel is only a few blocks away from the store and the weather was unseasonably warm.

Here’s my sweet girls in front of the historic Water Tower.

Lunch at the American Girl Doll store.  Of course they brought their dolls!

After lunch we caught a cab and met Auntie at Macy’s to see the windows.

This year’s story: Yes, Virginia there is a Santa Claus.

One of our Chicago traditions is always a visit to the Christkindlemarket located at Daley plaza, where we have to get our candied almond fix.

Fun fact:  not only is this a photo of the hustle and bustle of a Chicago street with the Willis Tower (formaly the Sears Tower) in the background, it’s also a photo of a two 2 lane road that is the start of histoic Route 66 that ends at the Santa Monica pier in CA.  I’m a dork for little facts like this.

A trip to the Chicago Art Museum was a first for us.  I was getty with excitment…I didn’t have any small children to contsantly look after.

Now before you email me about the rules of photography within an art museum….you are allowed to take as many photos as you’d like…just turn off your flash!  But… I don’t shoot with a flash…so I was good to go.  One rule I didn’t know about….you’re not allowed to answer your cell phone while in the galleries, you have to step into the hallway.  I got called on that.  hahahah…no pun intended. (wink)

Could my Mallory look any more enthused to be here?

Once we left the museum we walked over to Millennium Park, sipped on hot cocoa while trying to convince the girls to go ice skating.  They declined, so we hopped in a cab, ate dinner at the Rain Forest Cafe and saw the movie Tangled and walked back to hotel in the rain!

All for now.

It’s been quiet over here.

Things are slowing down just a bit work-wise, and I’ll be closing shop for my holiday/winter  break from Dec. 12-March 1, 2011.

I’ll still be posting here on my photo journal a while on break so check back when you can.

Last Sunday the girls and I drove down to Chicago to meet up with their favorite Auntie in the whole world for some quality girl time.  We had a blast and quite frankly we did so much I have to look at the photos I took to remember everything we did.   Anyone else have that problem when away on vacation?

Have a HAPPY lazy Sunday!

Chicago day 1.

This is how my Emily eats her pizza!!  Goodness me!

I love ZOO Lights!

I could have watched this guy carve all night long!
