Anything worth doing, is worth doing right.

Growing.  Changing.  Evolving.

Choosing to be a photographer and creating a photography business is not something that is easily mapped out for me, much less anyone creating a business.  I am constantly learning, changing, growing, evolving, and hardly ever standing still.  When I launched Kathryn Rose Images in the fall of 2008, I couldn’t wait for clients to see my awesome website that I had spent many countless and thoughtful hours putting together only to find out, to my dismay, two other photographers in the Eau Claire area had implemented the same web design as me!  I was calling myself unique and I felt far from it.

I have come full circle with myself since March of 2009.

I now realize that my website is my hand-shake and my photo journal is my voice.  I truly hope my clients have a crystal-clear and concise picture of what Kathryn Rose Images is all about and know me as a person. Have a look around, maybe you’ll spy a pretty face that you know all too well.

Spring is upon us!  It’s time for a fresh change!

Like my new look? Leave me a commet and tell me what you think.

Posting without a photo is a no-no in my book……Here’s my Emily playing in the Texas long grass.

 All for now.

You know how much I love Flash Mob’s….right? My friend Kirsty shared this one with me and it made me smile.

So I’m passing this along and hopes it makes you smile too.

All for now.

I was in such a rush to make sure all my ducks were in order at the beginning of the month, that I forgot to share this with you!

I photographed this cover for Queen of the Castle magazine. You can click on the link here to view the articles.

Have a great day!

I admit… I’m a Michael Jackson fan! Not afraid to say it.

He was the BIGGEST thing when I was growing up. I remember in the 4th grade (1984) being so jealous of a girl in class all because she had and wore this red look alike Michael Jackson jacket. Most of the boys wore one glove and our recess’ were utilized as valuable Moon-walking practice time!

I never did nail that step!

I’ve introduced his music to my children and they’re totally hooked. I bought the DVD “This is It” back in February and it gets some serious play time in my household. Mallory is even perfecting her Moon-walking skills and she’s nailed it on more than one occasion! (wink) I love how this DVD shows how much control he had over every aspect of his show, from picking the dancers, back-up singers, musicians to how soft spoken and polite he was talking with everyone involved to make it all come together. In my opinion, it portrays what a true artist he was and I had forgotten that over the years as the media took a less than glamorous spin on him.

My all time favorite MJ songs are:
1. Man in the Mirror 2. Smooth Criminal 3. Thriller 4. Human Nature 5. Will you be there

Leave me a comment and tell me your favorite MJ song (s)

All for now.

aaah the memories. I had a slumber party for my 10th birthday. Mum converted a bedroom into a disco party and the Grammys were on that night. I have vivid memories of kissing the TV and all us girls squealing when MJ scooped the awards. He was wearing his aviators and his black and gold jacket. My all time favourite two songs are Billie Jean and Man in the Mirror. x

  • Toooooo many memories – me and my bro doing the moonwalk – and making my Dad play my brothers Thriller tape in the car on holiday – I think my faves are Beat it, Billie Jean and PYT Pretty Young Thing – can you tell I’m singing it now?!!

Just one? Can I cheat and say two? Okay, well I’m going to ;-)
Billie Jean and Will You Be There. I saved my pocket money for weeks to buy the Thriller video when it came out, and I still have it, although have nothing to play it on now! RIP MJ

  • Oh my gosh, I’m sad to say that most of his songs I don’t even know what there called! Billie Jean and Smooth Criminal rock though

I’m not one to watch too much T.V. (you already knew that from this post)

In fact, we hardly watch any as a family.

The kids mostly watch PBS or a favorite DVD.

Anyhoo….I watched a bit of the Super Bowl (I’m not a big sports fan of anything) this year and of course that’s when you see some very creative ad’s come out of the wood work. My favorite was the Old Spice commercial. Talk about WOW! I was amazed to find out this commercial only used  one digital trick and that part is obvious. The rest of the commercial was a set of flying walls, great engineering, and one hot actor who doesn’t flinch or miss a beat.

Of course I’m posting the commercial for your enjoyment.

My question to you… Can you pinpoint when he’s getting on his horse? He’s so sly.

All for now and have a great weekend!
