The 411

Hello, and thanks for stopping by. Let me give you the low down.

I’ve put together a list of “FAQ’s” that are often asked or emailed to give you more of an idea about what to expect. If you don’t see an answer to your question (s), please shoot me an email or give me a ring.

How far in advanced do I need to book?

I only schedule a limited amount of sessions a month, and I’m usually scheduled months in advance.

What are your  studio hours and where are you located?

I work on location. That means I come to you. Whether it’s your home or favorite location, we’ll work together to find the best location for you and yours. I do not have set studio hours. I work with 100% natural lighting, and well, that constantly changes. I schedule morning sessions between 9am-12noon, when children are at their best, along with a few late afternoon/evening sessions during the week. Late evening golden light is hands down my favorite lighting in the summer. During the Fall/Winter months I am not able to photograph late in the afternoon, due to the fact it simply gets darker sooner.

I don’t see any large family groups in your portfolio. Can you photograph our family reunion?

I specialize in infant, baby, children, high school seniors, and family relationship photography. I simply love interacting with the small families I meet and it’s what I do best. My style is contemporary and to pull a large group/extended families together to photograph in a traditional way would be compromising my style.

What about Maternity or High School Seniors?

Absolutely, I love working with High School Seniors!  Please give me a shout and let’s discuss your needs and ideas.  You can also visit my senior site at  Seniors by Kathryn Rose Images.

Right now, I’m at the cross roads with my creative juices to be open to new experiences and expand my portfolio to possibly include Maternity sessions. Give me a call.

What’s up with the tilts and why is he missing his head? Can you re-crop a favorite image to show more and straighten in up? I really like the smile in this photo, but I like the overall appearance of another image, can you switch heads?

You’ve chosen me to capture your special moments, and for my creative eye. All the images you see in your gallery have been carefully edited and cropped. My photography style is not for everyone and I do not compromise my style….even if you ask very, very nicely.  I keep things as simple as I can. I do not use fancy Photoshop tricks. After all, we are not perfect. Remember, I’m passionate about capturing  who you truly are and not what you look like.

Why do I have to sign a model release form?

I ask all my clients to sign one. Having you sign a release form will allow me to use your said photos for promotion, advertising, publish to my business web-sites, or any type of medium. I do not publish names of your family nor your children, whether it be on the web or published material.

Do you photograph Weddings?

Thank you for even considering me to photograph your wedding. However, I am not a wedding photographer.

I’ll be adding to this growing list of questions so check back periodically.

Thanks!   ~K
