Playful.  Honest.  Vibrant.

Gotta love yellow Tonka trucks, bright striped sweaters, and amazing light.  Couldn’t have asked for a better morning to photograph this cutie with amazing blue eye in the heart of Eau Claire’s downtown area.

Thanks for stopping by.

It’s beginning to be that time of year for me…Christmas Card Season!  Yep…it’s a season for me alright.  Kinda like duck season. Or rabbit season. (Que the Looney Tunes music.) And once December 8th hits for me this year (studio closes for the year), I’ll have NO creativity left and look forward to unplugging for my long Winter slumber. Christmas Card Season is what keeps me fresh.  Excited. Creative.

Creating one-of-a-kind holiday cards, getting to know my clients and brainstorming funny sessions year to year is such a privilege for me.  To come into my client’s lives yearly, witnessing how they’ve changed as a family unit and watching their kids grow, I won’t lie…gets me a little verklempt (talk amongst yourselves for a moment.)  I’m so thankful I’m chosen to go along and document their journeys.

Soon I’ll be announcing my New Mexico session dates.  I’m looking forward to visiting with friends, eating yummy food, and photographing families in the dreamy ABQ light.

Thanks for stopping by.

One of the downsides about Fall is finding the perfect pumpkin.  I hung out with this sweetie for an hour or so and enjoyed playing with her at Ferguson’s orchard.  I’m happy to report she did find her perfect pumpkin.

It’s hard not to fall in love with her beautiful eyes.

The weather has been amazing for October in Wisconsin and I strongly suggest you take some time with the family to visit your favorite local orchard and create some new memories.

This past summer we took off for about 6 weeks for travel leaving some things on our Eau Claire bucket list incomplete.  Believe it or not one of the “top” things to do for my kids is to pick berries.  They love doing this. In fact they love picking berries so much I actually planted raspberry bushes in my yard. Funny thing is the last two summers we haven’t been around to pick them. At least out neighbors have enjoyed them.  Coming into the long weekend I decided to google berry farms to see if anyone still had berries.  Low and behold, Augusta Blueberries had plenty. Once there, we were on blueberry overload!  We kept hopping from bush to bush trying to find the largest blueberry and spent more than an hour comparing our magnificent finds. We plan on going back later this week to fill the freezer for winter.  If by chance you need to check “picking berries” off your summer bucket list you still have time to experience blueberry overload.  Here’s a few fun iPhone photos from our outing.

No adventure is complete without Munchkins from Dunkin Donuts.

Heading back into Augusta to grab lunch I pulled off onto hwy M to visit one of my favorite greenhouses in the area to pick up some Mum’s for the front porch.  3 for $20. Can’t beat that, plus I know the family I’m supporting. Eau Claire WI Around Town_3556

Lunch was at one of our favorite summer joints, Tep’s Drive-In .  (blogged here and here) It’s actually called Gup’s now…but the sign still says Tep’s. You know how that goes…”don’t monkey with tradition”.  As usual we ordered to much fried food, but I tried to balance the meal with our freshly picked blueberries.

Spent the afternoon rinsing and packing yummy goodness in freezer baggies for the winter.  Mallory even made Nutella covered blueberries which didn’t even last a day in the house.
